The Recipe Girls LLC.

The Recipe Girls is a gluten-free at-home bakery located here in Bloomington, Illinois founded by Drue Van Meter. The Recipe Girls is a bakery for those with allergies or sensitivities. They can also cater to the needs of the Dairy Free, Egg Free, Vegan, Paleo or Keto minded. Drue’s goal is to let everyone have something sweet, no matter what!

Drue first heard of the SBDC from the Bank of Pontiac. After contacting the SBDC, she was put into contact with our Business Advisor Gabriela Montaigne, who has been helping her get into contact with all the right people to help with expanding the business. Thanks to the guidance of the SBDC, Drue is on the road to purchasing her own storefront.

The Recipe Girls operate and serve a large area, allowing them the opportunity to provide baked goods to a wide variety of people who have special dietary needs. By offering these goods Drue hopes to give these people a sense of “normalcy” and provide them with something that tastes good and that is considerate of their digestive system. Within the next year, Drue hopes to move from her home into a storefront, in addition to adding an employee or two. You can find The Recipe Girls at the Downtown Bloomington Farmers Market every Saturday morning or visit them on Facebook at www.facebook.com/TheRecipeGirls to see their offerings.

Contact the SBDC at sbdc@iwu.edu for more information on how we can help your business.
